How To Avoid Being Scammed On AliExpress As A Mini Importer – Part 1
AliExpress is the topmost ecommerce site and online market place in China, a member of the famous Alibaba group.
It is common knowledge that no matter how good a marketplace is there must be bad people looking for ways to fleece others of their hard earned resources.
Therefore, do not be deceived that AliExpress is free of scammers. Scammers and cheats are everywhere; whether the business is online or offline.
That is why we are bringing to you some tips you need to use to save yourself the heartache of being scammed by people on AliExpress.com.
The company, AliExpress has a lot of anti-fraud systems put in place to detect and avoid fraud, but there are still people who are bent on defrauding innocent members of the public.
They know that at all times there are greedy and inexperienced people who come to buy in the marketplace. You therefore must take your time to study and take full advantage of fraud protection systems that the company has put in place for buyers on the platform.
The following are tips you must follow to avoid being defrauded on AliExpress:
Let me advise you, never believe what someone you just met online is telling you that is contrary to the systems put in place by the online platform.
Never pay any seller offline. No matter how genuine you think his statements are. The system put in place by AliExpress has a payment platform integrated into the online marketplace.
This system has an inbuilt buyer protection protocol. This is the reason why you must use the system in order to enjoy the buyer-protection put in place by the company.
If you want to buy products from AliExpress and you already have the product or products in mind, go straight to the product page of the supplier. Click on the product you are interested in to read the descriptions and check other details.
If you have already registered on the platform, you can go ahead and click on the Buy Now button on the supplier’s product page.
If you are new, go and register as a user before conducting your transactions. It is always advisable to transact your business on AliExpress through your registered account on the AliExpress platform.
The advantage of registering on the platform is that in case you did not conclude your transactions the same day, you can always come next time, log in and continue from where you stopped; all details will still be intact for you.
In that case it will be difficult for a fake or dubious seller to lure you offline which can lead to your being defrauded or shortchanged.
The reason why you should pay through the Buy Now button of the seller’s product page is that when you do that, AliExpress will withhold the payment in an escrow account pending the confirmation from you that you have received your goods in good and agreed condition.
As soon as you confirm receipt, AliExpress will release the payment to the seller. The seller is confident that he will receive his money if he concludes the business successfully.
You can see how this system protects both the buyer and the seller. The buyer will not be defrauded, if the product is not delivered, the seller will not be paid and the buyer gets his money refunded by AliExpress.
Also if you make payment through the official payment platform, and a dispute arises between you and a supplier, if it cannot be successfully resolved, AliExpress will intervene and if they judge in your favour, your money will be refunded.
Some fraudulent suppliers will pose as genuine suppliers and try to lure you to make payments outside the official payment channel, if you succumb and you get scammed by them, you are on your own as AliExpress will not intervene.
Take away; always conduct your transactions through your registered account and make payments through AliExpress’ official payment system put in place to avoid fraud.
